Four procedures for cold-bonded pellets for converter dust

1. Prepare materials

The dust removal ash from the converter is transported to the raw material silo by a suction and discharge tanker, and the ash is unloaded into the ash silo of the raw material silo system through pneumatic transportation, waiting for batching, humidification, and digestion. The dust removal ash is unloaded to the humidifier in proportion through the impeller feeder for humidification, and then enters the mixer for mixing, and then transported to the digestion bin for digestion processing.

Starch dry powder binders are stored in the binder bin. The advantage of starch dry powder binder is that it will not bring a large amount of Si element into the finished pellet and at the same time, it has good mixing performance. Because the finished pellets are directly supplied to the converter as steelmaking auxiliary materials, the converter has strict control over the content of the Si element, so glass water and bentonite binders cannot be used. When starch glue binders are mixed with dry ash, there will be A large amount of agglomeration affects the pelleting rate and the strength of the finished pellet to a certain extent. Therefore, starch dry powder binder is selected for this process.

The oxide iron sheets are stored in the iron sheet warehouse for later use.

 

2. Crush the ingredients

After adjusting the proportion of the digested mixture, binder and iron oxide scale, they are transported to the double screw mixer for preliminary mixing. After preliminary mixing, they are transported to the intermediate warehouse of the wheel mill for use.

The premixed materials are in the wheel mill, and the rolling rollers and turning plates in the wheel mill work together to fully stir and compact the materials.

The crushed materials pass through the hydraulic discharge valve on the wheel mill and are discharged into the chain conveyor. Finally, the materials are transported back to the intermediate warehouse of the briquetting machine for storage.

 

  3. Press pellets and screen  

The crushed mixture is transported to the briquetting machine through the conveying equipment. It enters the interior of the briquetting machine through the double screw feeder on the top of the briquetting machine. After being pressed into pellets by pairs of rollers, it is discharged by the unloader at the bottom of the briquetting machine. Unload it to the belt conveyor, and transport the green pellets and unpelleted material powder to the screening station for screening through the belt conveyor. The powder is collected by the chain conveyor and returned to the middle bin of the briquetting machine, where briquetting continues. Green pellets that meet the requirements fall into the belt conveyor and enter the drying equipment.

 

4. Dry and screen

The drying equipment adopts a steel structure vertical drying warehouse. The top of the drying warehouse is a feeding belt conveyor and the bottom is a discharge belt conveyor. The green pellets are quantitatively added to the drying warehouse, and the finished pellets are quantitatively discharged to the discharge. Belt conveyor arrives at the screening station for secondary screening. After the undersize is collected, it is returned to the intermediate bin of the wheel mill. The screened materials can be loaded onto trucks and transported outside.
