The Laojun Mountain is located in Luanchuan County, Luoyang City, Henan Province, covering an area of 26.66 square kilometers. According to legend, Lao Tzu retired here to practice in seclusion. After enlightenment, he rode a green bull to Hangu Pass from here. The descendants called this mountain The Laojun Mountain in his honor, and it is the longest historical mountain range in Taoism. The Laojun Mountain is the main peak of the Funiu Mountains, with an altitude of 2,217 meters. It was formed in the continental orogenic movement 1.9 billion years ago. It records the tectonic evolution process of the southern edge of the ancient land mass of North China over the past 1.9 billion years, such as cleavage, dispersion, accretion, aggregation, collision, and mountain building, etc., and it has a higher value for scientific research. History

Over the thousands of years of destruction and repair, it now exists 6 temples, of which the peak of Laojun Temple is the most spectacular.
• In 637, Emperor Taizong of Tang sent Yuchi Jingde to rebuild the top Laojun Temple and gave it the name "Laojun Mountain".
• In 1603, Emperor Shenzong of the Ming Dynasty declared Laojun Mountain as "Famous Mountain in the World" and sent money to build the temple, making it the only Chinese mountain range in history to be named "Famous Mountain in the World" by the emperor, and at the same time, it is the mountain range with the longest history in Taoism.
